Sydney – A starting point

Sydney is probably my starting point for this blog – but not the start of my travels: Those began some time ago! I recognise that I will find my voice as I go, but I have to start somewhere. And if you are going to start anywhere, it might as well be in one of Australia’s great cities.

It is well worth staying near ‘The Rocks’ where Sydney’s first European settlers arrived – you are immediately in easy walking distance of some of Australia’s oldest buildings, as well as some truly iconic landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House (above) designed by Jørn Utzon, and the great ‘Coat hanger’ the Sydney Harbour Bridge (below) which links the Central Business District with the North Shore.
